Tiles for Tots Preschool Campaign Graphics

Preschool Campaign Graphics

Sunset Christian Preschool, University Place, WA

Campaign Graphics can go a long way, especially when you are fundraising in the community. This campaign was done to raise funds for University Place Presbyterian Church for the 2012 Playground this Spring.

I designed full color brochures for display in the church. There was a tiny playground model covered in a glass case and a glossy poster with 3-D renderings to give the viewer an idea of the future outdoor playground structure.

Along with the brochure, there were web graphics, blog articles, facebook posts, email campaigns, etc. all in an effort to sell tiles! Each tile is $40 and will go toward the cost of the soft, safety surface that the playground will be built upon. If you would like to donate to this playground, visit www.UPPC.org and purchase a

Logo Design

Logo Design | Tuscany Coffee Drive-Thru

Logo Design | Tuscany Coffee
Logo Design is an essential part of your business! I designed the logo and signage for Tuscany coffee in Lakewood, WA while I was employed at BCRA in Tacoma. This logo is one of my favorites. I used a Sharpie marker to hand write the letters a few times, then I scanned them into the computer and used Photoshop to put them in place and edit the colors. I selected a color palette for branding, complimentary colors for the words: coffee drive-thru, and I worked with various background shapes for signage details. The most difficult part about this project was tracing the letters in Adobe Illustrator and making them into a vector image after I scanned it. This is a requirement when you submit your logo to the signage company, so they can easily cut out the letters using their fancy software and laser cutter machine. You are providing them with a logo template that can be scaled to any size for use on stationary, t-shirts, signage, banners and more! For all of those items, a vector logo is the way to go. Another popular and necessary logo format is a jpg. Saving your logo design to a jpg works well for the web, on applications such as facebook, blogs, flyers, websites, etc. It’s smaller and it’s not editable. It’s basically just like a picture, with a white background. If that pesky white background is an issue, save a version of your vector logo as a png – then you won’t have to deal with that white little box! Logo design is so important when starting a business. Be inspired!

Church Camaign Graphics

Last Fall, our church team gathered to come up with a simple, sophisticated way to present the Bible to our church that also supported our vision to Learn, Live and Share the Story of Jesus. Its purpose and goal is to have members and friends of UPPC reading the Scriptures together in a planned, prayerful, purposeful way. I think it’s important to come up with a name that will stick, and GODaily was the catchiest title I could think of to capture the audience. This was my design process:

1. Meeting with the executive team to discuss vision of pastor: “everyone reads the same scriptures daily, together.”
2. Brainstorm simple ways to communicate the concept to church guests.
3. Get buy-in from team on the concept of “GODaily” or GOD, daily.
4. Create rough concepts of my artwork, research stock photos
5. Finalize colors, textures, text, & social media execution
6. Work with video tech team and web team to launch campaign
7. Develop printed materials with daily scriptures, printed in-house
8. Work with ministers on their vision for children and youth
9. Produce banners and mounted posters to support theme around church
10. Produce graphics for Sunday screens during worship

The end product was a success! Visit UPPC to see how it works!

UPPC Legacy Campaign & Historical Wall Mural

UPPC  2012 Trusteeship Campaign | University Place Presbyterian Church.

In addition to my new home-based graphic design + creative writing company, I am currently employed as the Director of Communications at UPPC.

Responsibilities include: graphic design, editing, art direction, branding, advertising, social media and printed in-house publications (weekly bulletin, postcards, flyers) developing communication systems for the staff and congregation.

UPPC is located in University Place, WA.

Purpose of this Campaign: To raise funds for the annual church operating budget.

Creative Process: Our design team collaborated about a historical theme for this campaign, which included restoring photographs from the UPPC archives, producing a 20 foot Historical Wall Mural and a brochure to match the campaign branding.

This mounted mural display is in the center of the stairway as you walk into the building. Bold colors and modern imagery add a unique contrast and frame historical sepia photos.

Printing, mounting and installation by our printing partnership, SuperGraphics.

I have a passion for restoring antique, historical photos that tell a story from the past. We used a collage timeline, ranging from past to present, concluding with life-size cutouts of members doing recent mission work. Visit UPPC.
